CleanEnergy Biofuels Making Southeast Greener
Status: Launched
Description: CleanEnergy BioFuel collects used cooking oil from restaurants and industrial kitchens in parts of Tennessee and Georgia. They then convert that oil, through a patented process, to make “biodiesel” fuel for large fleets of trucks and buses in the region. The oil collected is used exclusively for clean fuel transporation, thus helping to reduce air pollution in the region and reduce greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. All collections are done free of charge. CleanEnergy BioFuel is an initiative of the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE), a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that promotes responsible energy choices that solve global warming problems and ensure clean, safe and healthy communities throughout the Southeast.
